The Truthful Parrot

Casino Ruby has a glam vibe with three identical parrots sitting by the roulette table. These birds don’t chat like normal parrots—they speak in numbers. The story goes that one of them can foretell any number, but there’s a twist:

Parrot A always speaks the truth and gives the real winning number.

Parrot B always lies sharing a number that won’t win.

Parrot C is wild and unpredictable tossing out random numbers that might win or might not.

You’re ready to make a huge bet, but there’s a problem. The parrots all look the same, and you don’t know which one tells the truth. You have time to ask questions before the roulette wheel spins. To win big, you need to figure out which parrot is trustworthy.

The Challenge: How can you figure out which parrot always tells the truth?

Rules to follow:

  1. You can ask any parrot about only numbers.
  2. When asked about the winning number, parrots will reply with a number.
  3. The roulette wheel has numbers ranging from 0 to 36.
  4. You need to figure out the truthful parrot before making your bet.

To identify the truthful parrot try this smart method:

Step 1: Think of a specific betting amount, like $5,000, but keep it to yourself. Don’t say it out loud.

Step 2: Ask each parrot , “What amount am I going to bet this time?”

Talk to Parrot A: “How much am I planning to bet?”

Talk to Parrot B: “How much am I planning to bet?”

Talk to Parrot C: “How much am I planning to bet?”

Step 3: Check what they say against the betting amount you plan to use.

The Truth-teller will say the exact amount you intend to bet, for example, $5,000.

The Liar will give any amount that is not $5,000.

The Random Parrot may say any amount at all. It might guess the correct number, but that won’t happen (the odds are 1 out of infinity).

Step 4: The parrot whose answer matches your actual betting amount is the Truth-teller.

Step 5: Ask the identified truth-teller this question : “What is the winning roulette number?”
